Google Presentations (a recent new addition to the Google Documents service) is an amazing free service from Google which lets you create online presentations, similar to Powerpoint presentations. You can access this presentation from any computer. You can invite others to view your presentation (there's even an online chat mode you can activate together with the presentation), and you can also give permission to others to edit the filepresentation so that you can do a group presentation, etc. There are also great import and export features, email features, and so on.
For this Technology Tip, you will create a simple 2-slide presentations and then you will publish the presentation on the web.
To complete this Technology Tip, you need to have created a Google account. So, that means you either need a Gmail account, or you need to have done the Customized Google Homepage assignment.
Step 1 - Log in: Go to docs.google.com. Log in with your Google account information.
Step 2 - Create presentation: Click on New and then select Presentation.
Step 3 - Edit presentation: You need to type something in the first slide, and then click on "New Slide" to add slide, so that you have a presentation with 2 slides. You can use some of the other editing features if you want, selecting a new template, adding an image, and so on.

Step 4 - Save presentation: Click File - Save, and then click File - Rename, and give the presentation this name: Technology Tip.
Step 5 - Publish: Click the Publish tab (the blue tab with white letters) along the right-hand side of the screen:
You will then need to click the silver Publish button. Next, you will see the URL (webpage address) of the published presentation.
Copy and paste this URL into an email and send that to the instructor, laura-gibbs@ou.edu. For the Subject Line, use Myth-Folklore Google Presentation, Indian Epics Google Presentationor World Lit Google Presentation, depending on which class you are in.

When you have sent in the email, you can do the Gradebook Declaration for Extra Credit.
NOTE: You can even use the HTML code provided on the Publish page to "embed" the presentation in a webpage. See the note at the bottom of the PollDaddy Technology Tip for how to insert HTML code directly into a webpage using Composer.
