Technology Tips: Firefox Web Browser

Firefox is a browser that works for BOTH Windows AND Macintosh computers. This is a big plus for me as someone who teaches online courses with many students who use Windows and many students who use Macs. (I am a Mac user myself.)

So, in order to share my browser tips and tricks with you, we need to be using the same browser. For this Technology Tip, you will install Firefox on your computer. If you already have Firefox, you are good to go - just skip to Step Two and send me a screenshot!

STEP ONE: Install Firefox. To install Firefox, just go to the Firefox website and follow the instructions there. You may notice the "Campus Edition" there, which is a version of Firefox that has some add-ons already installed. Personally, I think it's better to choose your own add-ons, but if you want to install the Campus Edition, go right ahead! The Foxy Tunes add-on which is included there is pretty nifty. If you need some help, check out the Firefox Installation Help Pages.

STEP TWO: Send screenshot. You need to take a screenshot that shows the Firefox browser running on your computer, and send that to me via email - and, just out of curiosity, please let me know if you already had Firefox installed on your computer, or if you installed it for the purposes of this Technology Tip. Here are the instructions for taking a screenshot.

If you are in the Myth-Folklore class, use the Subject Line Myth-Folklore Firefox; if you are in Indian Epics, Indian Epics Firefox; or for World Literature, World Lit Firefox.

After you have sent me the email, you are done with the assignment! When you have sent in the email, you can do the Gradebook Declaration for Extra Credit.
