Ning.com Account Creation

You will be using a Ning online community site, OUMyth.ning.com, for blogging and also a classroom space in which to interact with other people in the class. Perhaps you have already used a Ning community site before; there are thousands of Ning websites online. Some of those sites are public, while other Ning websites are private, like this one, where you need an invitation to join. As you will see, Ning has a lot of similarities to the Facebook community site - I'm really excited about using Ning for this class, and I hope that you will enjoy it.

This assignment has two parts: creating your Ning account, and completing your MyPage profile.

PART ONE: Join the Ning. You should already have received an invitation to join the Ning. Here are instructions on how to use the information in that email to create your Ning account and to log on to the class Ning. If you cannot find your invitation email, contact me to request another invitation.

NOTE: Enrolled in multiple classes? If you are enrolled in multiple classes with me this semester, please make sure you read these notes about duplicate assignments. You will use just one Ning account for each of the classes you are enrolled in with me this semester.

PART TWO: Create your MyPage profile. After you log on to the Ning, you should make sure your profile is complete. To get to your page, just click on the My Page tab on the Ning homepage. Make sure you meet the following minimum requirements:

If you want to find some more ways to customize your page, check out these Ning MyPage Tips. I've also got a page at the Ning - follow this link to see MyPage at the class Ning.

DECLARATION: When you are done, make sure you complete the Gradebook Declaration.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

I have created a Ning account at the class Ning and logged on successfully.

I have answered the profile questions and uploaded a photo or other image to use as my avatar.
