Mozilla Composer: Your First Webpages With Images

Last week, you published two simple webpages with text and links. This week, you will add images to your two pages.

NOTE: if you already took a class with me. This assignment is the same as in previous semester; if you already have published your homepage and "About Me" pages in a previous class, with images included, please just send me an email to let me know, and go ahead and do the Declaration - you're done!

For each image you use on a webpage for this class, you must provide Image Information so that people can find out the image you are using. There is nothing worse than finding an image on the Internet with no identifying information! You can put the Image Information anywhere on the page that you want, provided that the information appears on the same page where you are using the image. It does not have to go right next to the image. In fact, it usually looks much better if the Image Information is tucked away down at the bottom of the page, where it will not interfere with your visual presentation of the image! So, make sure the Image Information is included in the page, but put that information wherever you want on the page.

Adding images to your OU Homepage and About me page

Your assignment this week is to add at least one image to each of the two webpages you have published for this class: your OU Homepage (home.html) and your About Me page (aboutme.html). Follow these Instructions for adding images to Webpages with Composer. Please follow these instructions very carefully. If you do this carefully, one step at a time, you can complete the assignment in about 30-45 minutes. If you do not follow the instructions extremely carefully, you are going to spend a lot of time on this assignment and get very frustrated. So, save yourself some frustration by printing out the instructions and checking them off one by one.

If you get stuck... Do not spend more than one hour trying to do this assignment on your own if you are having problems. Please give it one full hour of your best effort, and if you are still stuck, contact me for help. When you contact me for help please tell me exactly at which step in the process you seem to be stuck and send me the link to the pages you have published. If you publish a page but the image is not working, I can probably figure out the problem IF you send me the address of the webpage that is having problems. So, make sure you publish the latest version of the webpage before you contact me for help.

When you are done, check the list of Storybook links for this class to make sure you can see your pages and images correctly displayed:

Do not do the Gradebook Declaration until you have checked to make sure your pages and images are displaying correctly.

Make your Gradebook Declaration

When you are done, make your Gradebook Declaration for this assignment.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

I have added an image to my OU Homepage with Image Information on the page.

I have added an image to my About Me page with Image Information on the page.

I can see both of the images displayed correctly when I access my pages using the list of Storybook links at our course website.
