Mozilla Composer: Links

Here is how you add create links in Composer:

1. Open the page. Open the webpage that you want to edit in Composer (or start with a blank page).

2. Link text. Type the link text that you want to use. Usually the link text is the name of the website. You should NOT use a URL (webpage address) as your link text. Instead, choose real human language, actual words, for the text of your link:

After you have highlighted the link text that you just typed, and click on the Link icon.

3. Link location. Now, insert the Link Location. There are two different ways to do this, depending on whether you are linking to a webpage on the Internet or where you are linking to a webpage in your own website.

Linking to a webpage on the Internet:

If you are linking to a webpage on the Internet, you need to include the complete web address, including the http:// . The best way to do this is to use your web browser to find the webpage and copy-and-paste the web address directly from the browser bar. If you try to type the web address yourself, you will probably make a mistake, and the link will not work

Linking to a webpage INSIDE your website:

If you are linking to a page in your website, you should click on the Choose File button, and then select the webpage you want to link to from the files in your website folder.

4. Click OK. When you are done inserting the Link Location, click OK. The Link Text should now be underlined.

5. Test the link. To test the link, you need to view the page in Browse mode. Click on the Browse icon in order to do that:
