The centrally-administered IT computer labs on the Norman campus have Mozilla Seamonkey installed, and you can do your web publishing assignments by working in the lab. Call 325-HELP for the locations and hours of the central IT computer labs (some of them are open 24 hours per day).
When you work in the lab, you will need to have a portable Flash-drive of some kind (sometimes called a thumb-drive or jump-drive) that you can save your work on. Create a folder on your drive to save your work for this class, just as you would create a folder on your own computer.
Then, every time you work in the lab, you must follow this procedure:
1) Create a folder on the lab computer desktop to keep your work in. The lab may be configured so that this folder is created for you automatically when you log on to the computer; if not, you can create the folder on the desktop yourself; if you need assistance, call 325-HELP.
2) Copy the contents of the folder on your portable drive into this folder on the computer desktop.
3) Do your work on the computer, editing and saving your work in the folder on the desktop.
4) When you are done and are ready to leave the computer lab, copy the contents of your desktop folder back onto your portable drive. If you have edited an existing file, it will ask you if you want to overwrite the files on your portable drive with the new versions of the files; say "yes." This way, you will have a copy of all your latest work on the portable drive, and you can use it the next time you come to the lab.
