Internet Assignment Weeks 5-12: Storybook Comment Assignment

The Week 12 Internet assignment starts on Tuesday April 14 , and it will run through Sunday April 19 . (WORKING AHEAD? The Week 13 Internet assignment will be available on Tuesday April 21 . Check back then! )

For Week 12, you will be looking at THREE STORYBOOKS. The instructions are the same as for last week:

ONE NEW Storybook that you CHOOSE - please pick a Storybook you have not read before; if you have read all the Storybooks in the class you are enrolled in, pick from one of the other classes. You can find all the Storybooks listend here:
World Literature | Myth-Folklore | Indian Epics

TWO REPEAT Storybooks that you CHOOSE - please pick a Storybook that you have visited before but make sure there is a NEW story for you to read; you should have read at least one story already, and this time you will be reading a NEW story (either the second or third or fourth story, depending on when you last visited the Storybook.

This assignment will take you at least 45 minutes, and possibly one hour: make sure you budget enough time for it!

You need to leave a comment of 200 words minimum for each person about their Coverpage AND Introduction and (hopefully) their first Story. Here are some questions to consider:

Coverpage (if you have not commented on this Storybook before): What do you expect from this Storybook based on the title you find on the coverpage? What does the image convey to you? Before you "turn" the coverpage and open the Storybook, what are you expecting to find, based on the coverpage alone?
Introduction (if you have not commented on this Storybook before): After reading the Introduction, do you have a good idea about what the topic is and what kind of stories you will find in this Storybook? Is the background information clear? Does it seem complete? Are there any questions you have which are unanswered?
Story: What is your overall impression of the story? Are the characters vividly portrayed? Is there good pacing for the action? Is there too much detail, or too little, or just the right amount? What does the image contribute to the story? Does the Author's Note answer any questions you have about the story and the original source? Does the Author's Note help you see how this story fits into the overall project?
