Read and Respond: Blog Comment Assignment

This assignment can only be done AFTER people have had a chance to complete their blog assignments. That means that the blog comment assignment is available only on FRIDAY-SATURDAY-SUNDAY of any given week, with a final deadline of Monday noon.

Each week you will be assigned two other students. In order to complete the assignment, you must read and respond to two blog posts for each of the two students - making a total of four comments.

WHAT TO READ. Your task is to read and reply to the Essay and Storytelling posts for the current week. If you cannot find an Essay or a Storytelling post for the current week, comment on any other blog post they have done for the current week (such as a "Last Words" post) for a total of two posts, or check back and find a post for a previous week and comment on that.

CURRENT WEEK: SCROLL IF NEEDED. Some people may be working one week or even two weeks ahead - so you might need to scroll down their list of blog posts to make sure you are reading the Essay and Storytelling posts for the current week. Also, a few students are enrolled in more than one class, so make sure you are reading the posts that pertain to the class you are in together with them.

READ CAREFULLY. It is very important that you read the two posts carefully and that you make specific comments back on each of those two posts. Each comment must be a minimum of 60 words in length - that's a solid 2-3 sentences . You can always write more than that, of course - there is no maximum limit for this assignment, and hopefully you will find you have lots to say in replying to each of the posts you read. A great way to count words for something short like a blog comment is to use the Word Count Plus add-on for the Firefox browser.

REMEMBER TO SAY HI. This assignment is a big part of how you will get to know other people in class - so make sure you say "Hi" and use the person's name, so that you can start to learn the names of other people in class.

Want to reply? If you want to reply to a comment someone has left you, you can click on their name (which is underlined and is a clickable link), and this will take you to their Profile page, where you can leave a comment for them at their "Comment Wall."

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

I have left comments on two blog posts for each of my two assigned people, for a total of four comments.

Each of my comments is a MINIMUM of 60 words in length.
